Your Experience Is Unique
Receiving a diagnosis of cancer is emotional, scary, overwhelming and can make you feel like you’ve lost control. Your cancer and the way you respond to treatments are individual and personal. Most people know about cancer through the experience of someone else, often a family member or friend. There are many types of cancer and other people’s experiences will not be the same as yours. We encourage you to express your emotions, ask questions and allow us to teach you how to be an advocate for yourself.
Orange County Radiation Oncology Center (OCROC) offers innovative, effective treatment methods that can give you real hope for recovery. We were one of the first radiation oncology centers in Orange County to offer dynamic intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and the first to acquire a revolutionary linear accelerator (radiation therapy machine). We are also one of the few in the area to offer high-dose-rate (HDR) brachytherapy and among the first to offer stereotactic radiosurgery and stereotactic radiotherapy.
Our team of radiation oncologists, physicists and dosimetrists works together to develop the most appropriate treatment plan for every patient we see. We keep your referring doctor informed of your progress with written reports, plus make ourselves available for consultation when needed.
Finally, the will to heal runs deep at OCROC. Encouragement, support and compassion are daily themes throughout our office. Appointments are thorough and unhurried, and everything is explained to you and your loved ones in simple, easy-to-understand language. There are many websites with information about cancer.
